Lunch with Timothy!
This is our friend Brendan’s bike. It’s pretty freakin sweet. Don’t be intimidated by the picture, he’s not that scary in real life (unless you chop his wheel, then he might slap you about the head). Also worth mentioning the white wheels are just for training, it normally gets about on beautiful Campagnolo Shamals.
Custom built by Peter and Jim Bundy, it is measured and tailored to the exact fit as outlined by Brendan himself (likely with the help of Melbourne’s infamous Dr Dom). It’s all Columbus MAX tubing, so you know it’s gonna love when the power is unleashed on the boards.
Mirroring Brendan’s good mate, Sean “The Man” Hurley’s bike, the twin bikes (except the colour, Sean’s is black) hammering around Brunswick Velo is pretty rad.
Brendan is pretty damn fast on this thing, and has one of the smoothest pedalling techniques out there, but it’s been gathering dust of late. Seriously, it had a layer of dust on it when he brought it round!! Brendan explains the reasons why through numerous posts on his most excellent blog, The New Timer. Sounds like it was pretty tough going there for a while, but it’s great to see things are back on track (excuse the pun) and even catching him in secret training a few weeks back.
Hopefully he’ll be back at full strength soon and this bike gets all the attention it demands!
